CarbonGraph Secures Innovation Booster Funding

Founded in 2021, CarbonGraph has seen rapid growth. Most recently, the company has secured $96,358 in funding from the Canadian Food Innovation Network’s (CFIN) Innovation Booster Fund.

The company is focused on developing the solutions that allow users to measure, manage, and share product carbon footprints. This is achieved using end-to-end carbon footprinting solutions through data collection and supply chain mapping.

The new funding will go towards the company’s project, titled Enabling Automated Farm-to-Table Life-cycle Assessments in Canada. The company’s existing sustainability platform evaluates a food product’s environmental footprint. The funding will support a new functionality that will allow CarbonGraph to trace data back to food manufacturers and ingredient suppliers to produce high-quality life-cycle assessments for individual products. This will give Canadian consumers more insight into the environmental impact of their dietary choices, while highlighting the sustainability advantage of choosing Canadian food products in global markets.

This Innovation Booster funding will enable CarbonGraph to pilot their enhanced platform with the country’s largest food manufacturers, distributors, and retailers.

The Innovation Booster Program was designed to provide flexible and rapid support on a cost-shared basis to enable both Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to advance their food innovation and research outcomes.
